London’s Underground Lockers

Posted by

Inpost, the largest global operator of a 24/7 parcel locker network which runs 365 days a year, has just installed lockers at London’s Buckhurst Hill Station on the Central Line.

The idea for storage lockers to be used as collection points in towns and cities is quickly becoming popular. There is a greater demand for parcels to be delivered at the customer’s convenience, especially if these are inexpensive goods purchased over the web. The click and collect lockers are said to provide greater despatch opportunities, which is especially beneficial for busy commuters in London.

But are the Lockers are Secure and Safe?

Safety of users and goods shouldn’t be a concern for customers. The lockers have been installed in well-lit areas and are all constantly monitored by live CCTV cameras. They are suitable for smaller parcels and for faster deliveries.

The Lockers will not be in use for customers until the 9th June, with more automated parcel lockers to be opened at more at other Underground stations by late June. In total InPost has approximately 1000 collection points across the UK, and would like to increase this number to 1500 by the end of 2014.
